CHRISTIAN COUNSELING
FOR FAMILIES, CHILDREN AGES 4+, AND ADOLESCENT TEENS
COUNSELING CHILDREN AND TEENS If you are a parent seeking counseling
for your child or adolescent, be encouraged that you are taking
an important first step in seeking out help. You are advocating
for your child and recognizing their needs. Your child will find
therapy to be a place where they can explore the world, ask questions,
and develop skills. With over ten years of experience and a passion
for working with children, I will be able to relate to your child
and meet them where they are in their development. Whether your
child is grieving a loss, having a hard time making friends, struggling
with anger management, or processing a divorce, they will discover
therapy to be a place where they can grow and look forward to their
sessions.
COUNSELING FOR INDIVIDUAL ADULTS Thank you for taking the time out
of your day to explore what I can provide for you. I value your
courage to begin the process of healing hurts. In counseling I will
offer insight to your struggles and we will also create an environment
that will provide you an opportunity to process, to be heard, and
to seek growth. Our counseling relationship will also offer you
space to recognize how you interact with others. My goal is that
you will be encouraged from our time together and feel empowered
to integrate what you gain by making positive changes in your life.
My role as a Christian therapist My goal is to provide Christ-centered
and holistic care as you invest in counseling. This approach allows
us to examine how your behaviors, thoughts, emotions, and spiritual
beliefs impact your presenting concerns. It is often difficult to
experience hope when you are struggling, but I believe God works
in the midst of hopeless situations and that the promise of hope
in Jesus is “an anchor for the soul, firm and secure”
(Hebrews 6:19).
I look forward to joining with you on this journey of healing.
Why I Choose to be a Counselor I discovered my passion for ministry
in fifth grade when I volunteered in a preschool Sunday school class.
Ever since that time, ministry with children and adults has been
a passion and priority of mine. During my senior year of college,
I saw a counselor and I left many sessions excited and wanting everyone
I knew to be in counseling. I love developing relationships with
people and I am intentional about remembering details about peoples
lives and following up with them. These skills prepared me for a
career in counseling where I have the privilege to journey alongside
clients, listen to their stories, and provide insight. Counseling
blends my passions for people and ministry. These experiences along
with the desire to pursue work that blended with my faith directed
me to the counseling field.
A few personal tidbits about me... I love reading good literature
(whether that’s a picture book or a novel), drinking vanilla
lattes, eating cupcakes, playing board games and spending time with
family and friends.
